"I am passionate about helping create environments where children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves."
I hold a Bachelor of Speech, Hearing and Language Sciences and have spent my career building knowledge and experience across autism, behaviour support, inclusive education, and child development. I am currently working towards my Certified Behaviour Analyst registration and love continuing to learn, both through professional development and through the children, families, and educators I have the privilege of working alongside.
I have worked across preschools, schools, specialist education settings, community programs, and private family support services, supporting children with autism and various developmental and physical support needs.
What I love most about my work is helping children learn in the real world. Whether that’s in the classroom, the community, or through recreational activities, I am passionate about creating opportunities for children to develop skills, confidence, and independence in meaningful and enjoyable ways. I am particularly drawn to supporting children with complex behavioural needs and partnering with families and educators to help them feel confident in providing support.
I have also had the opportunity to work in South Africa alongside township communities, supporting teachers with practical tools and strategies for the classroom. That experience reinforced my belief that when educators feel empowered, children are given more opportunities to thrive.
I was drawn to this field because I believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate fully in the world around them. Throughout my career, I have seen how the right support, environment, and relationships can open doors for children and their families.
Being able to help create those opportunities, while supporting the educators and families around the child, is what continues to inspire me and makes this work so rewarding.
One moment that stands out wasn’t in a clinic or classroom. It was watching a child who initially needed significant support participate confidently in a community-based activity alongside their peers.
The joy, confidence, and sense of belonging they experienced was incredible to see. It reminded me that the most meaningful outcomes often happen beyond therapy sessions, when children are able to use their skills in the real world and access the same opportunities as everyone else. That’s when I knew this was the work I wanted to dedicate my career to.
To me, inclusion is about belonging. It’s knowing that a child isn’t just present in a space, but is actively participating, building relationships, learning new skills, and enjoying the experience alongside their peers.
I am passionate about helping create environments where children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves, while having opportunities to explore the world around them in meaningful ways.
